The LM Board is very pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Badriaki has accepted the position of LM Superintendent effective July 1, 2022. Dr. Badriaki stood out from a group of well-qualified candidates for his vision, wisdom, passion and proven leadership. The LM Superintendent Search Committee, by unanimous agreement, presented Dr. Michael Badriaki as the recommended candidate to the Board of Directors.
Dr. Michael Badriaki, his wife Kristen and daughter Teniel, live in Lancaster and are active participants in a Mennonite congregation. Dr. Badriaki earned a Doctor of Leadership in Global Perspectives degree from George Fox University, Portland, Oregon. His current studies in Intercultural Education at Biola University are a PhD in progress. Dr. Badriaki’s professional experience spans from business ventures as well as in educational projects in Africa, Asia, and South America. His cultural background and American experiences make him a highly effective leader. He has formulated educational programs in a variety of contexts, which is a strength he brought to LM. He is oriented toward the future and brings a strong strategic approach to his work. He has a deep faith in Christ that he lives out, and the foundation of Jesus’ loving kindness and mercy throughout the gospel he notes as foundational to his professional and personal life. This past year as the LMMS/LMH Principal he has been engaged in the process of planning for and implementing campus unification, and clearly articulates strategic priorities which he anticipates for LM. Dr. Badriaki is an intentional and strategic leader who desires to serve people with respect and dignity. He challenges others towards excellence and builds community by bringing people together where they feel accepted, heard, and valued.
We believe that Dr. Badriaki will lead LM into the unified campus with wisdom, innovation and strength, and look forward to working with him in this role.
Dr. Badriaki shares, “I am enthusiastic about the Christ-centered education at LM, which propels Anabaptist values that transcend the temptations of hopelessness, division, and polarization by restorative practices, reflection, healing, love, truth, and hope. LM has positively impacted our community for decades, and LM’s Christ-centered mission is a beacon of hope for the present and the future. I am excited to continue to be a part of this work together in this new role!”
Please join me in warmly welcoming and offering your prayers of support for Dr. Badriaki as he begins this new role as Superintendent of Lancaster Mennonite.
